Diagnosis:
Her2nu positive Breast Cancer in left breast.
Stage IV with Methastethes in Lymphnodes and Liver.
Age 26
December 2005 - Original Diagnosis, Port-a-Cath surgery, First Chemotherapy
Treatment: Taxotere, Carboplatin, and Herceptin every 4 weeks. Herceptin only bi-weekly.
April 2006 - Ventricular Tachicardia - Weakened heart from Herceptin
Treatment: Added Coreg to regulate heart.
September 2006 - Discovery of 2nd tumor in left breast. Not responding to treatment.
Treatment: Unilateral Mastectomy of Left Breast with no reconstruction.
January 2007 - Developed allergic reaction to chemotherapy Carboplatin.
Treatment: Oncologist deemed it unnecessary and dropped it.
August 2007 - Hospitalized with sepsis infection originating from Port
Treatment: Surgery to remove infected port and place a new one.
November 2007 - Remission
Treatment: Stop Taxotere, but continue on 3 week intervals of Herceptin
August 2008 - Seizure and discovery of brain tumor.
Treatment: Craniotomy to remove tumor. 1 session of gamma knife radiation.
March 2009 - Discovery of 2nd brain tumor.
Treatment: 1 session of gamma knife radiation.
April 2009 - Pregnancy
Treatment: Space out interval of Herceptin 4-5 weeks.
October 23, 2009 - Gave birth to a beautiful baby girl!
Treatment: Resume 3 week intervals of Herceptin
2010 to 2012 - NED, No Evidence of Disease...it means the cancer is there, but the scans can't see it.
Treatment: Herceptin
September 2013 - NED - New lesions in brain determined to be "radiation changes" and not mets.
Treatment: Herceptin
2014 - NED, but heart is failing due to Herceptin.
Treatment: Continue Herceptin, monitor heart every 3 months. Treatment may need to be stopped.
